Black-ish creator plans sitcom based on John Legend and wife

ALL SMILES: Singer John Legend with his wife Chrissy Teigen

R&B SINGER John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen have inspired a new US sitcom.

According to BuzzFeed, the cute couple's love story and marriage are the source material for an upcoming sitcom headed by Kenya Barris.

Barris, creator of the ABC show Black-ish, told BuzzFeed the first project in his brand new three-year overall deal with the network will be a sitcom inspired by Legend and his model wife.

"It's inspired by them — they're both super creative and super effusive and I'm just fans of them and everything they stand for," Barris said. "I'm really excited about it."

Chrissy and John are partnering with Barris to produce the project, which is tentatively called Ordinary People - also the name of one of Legend's hit songs.

Barris said the show will be about an interracial couple, which details "their issues and their obstacles that [happen inside] their personal relationship."

The show could start filming as early as this February, providing the pilot gets picked up by the network.
