BACK IN THE FOLD: Dwayne Bravo has returned from injury

DWAYNE BRAVO has given the West Indies fans something to celebrate with the news that he will return from injury earlier than expected.

The one-day international captain had been ruled out for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season with a shoulder problem, but he has joined up with the West Indies' 20-man training group that have gone to Barbados.

Bravo hurt his shoulder playing for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and while his recovery is going well; he admits he is not totally game ready.

The Trinidad-born player said: "I would say I am about 80 per cent fit, but there is still some work to be done with my shoulder. And I am feeling good.

“The range of motion is back again so there are a lot of positive signs so I look forward to the camp coming up."

It is the first time in four years that Bravo has been part of a Test squad. At the time, the 30-year-old made it clear, that he felt the selectors had made the wrong decision.

Bravo added: " I look forward to challenging for a place and get back to playing cricket again. This week I will definitely be back in the nets but I have to take it slowly.

"It is an injury that I don't think I can rush. I have to make sure it heals properly and then come back when it is the right time.

"It is just a matter of me going to the camp and see if I am able to take part and be fully a part of the camp and give my full commitment, which I don't think I am able to do at the moment."
