Carnival is coming!

RETURN: Notting Hill Carnival

THE LAUNCH of the Notting Hill Carnival took place at The Tabernacle, Powis Square attended by Carnival executive director Matthew Phillips last week.

Phillips said he expected the annual event to be one of the best ever experienced, adding that he plans to take "Carnival back to its roots."

He added: "Carnival was born out of local community expression of freedom and we want to retain that focus."

The iconic street party returns bigger and better this year on August 25-27, starting with the Panorama event taking place on Saturday and the main events on Sunday (family day) and Monday.

Featuring the usual spectacular parades that showcases London’s rich and varied multicultural heritage with masquerade bands, steel bands and samba bands as well as live music stages, sound systems, children’s activities, and an array of delicious Caribbean food stalls to choose
from, if you haven’t sampled the event before be sure to get down there this year.
