CHARLES VENN has opened up about the emotional strain his Strictly Come Dancing experience is having on him.

Venn, who has impressed the judges on the show with his dance moves, has frequently found himself in the bottom two with professional dancing partner Karen Clifton.

Speaking to presenter Zoe Ball on It Takes Two, the pair discussed finding themselves in the bottom two again.

Venn said he was very disappointed by the result.

He said: “It really knocked the complete stuffing out of me, and I don’t have much stuffing left."

He added: “It was disheartening but we do what we always do – just fight, that’s all we can do, just fight and move forward.”

Venn’s family have been supporting him throughout the competition and were in the audience for his latest dance-off performance.

He said: "It made me want to cry, man.

"You know what? I felt their strength going into it. I just hoped I wasn't going to cry. I was just trying to stop myself from crying. But yeah, I felt their strength. They galvanised me."

Fans of the duo have been sending Venn their messages of support and expressed their confusion at couple’s lack of public support.

One tweeted: “I don't get why people aren't voting for them. I think they're fab, their dance on Saturday actually made me emotional!”

Another said: “I don't like seeing anyone in the dance off but it has to happen. But I think Charles should be getting more support and credit for all the hard work he puts in with Karen as someone who hasn't danced before. I think he does brilliant and deserves his place in Strictly.”

“I've been voting for Chucky Venn Karen [Clifton] loads these couple of weeks don't know why they've been in the dance off lots of times,” another Twitter user said.

Venn spoke to The Voice about his time on Strictly and his hopes to win. Watch the interview here.
