Collymore suffers racist abuse on Twitter

TARGET: Stan Collymore

FORMER LIVERPOOL star Stan Collymore, was the victim of racist abuse on social networking site Twitter, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It is not the first time the TalkSPORT commentator has had to contact police regarding incidents on the site. He has often retweeted the abusive comments he receives to his 160,000 plus followers.

The comments followed allegations that a Liverpool fan had racially abused Oldham player, Tom Adeyemi, during the FA Cup on Friday evening. No one was arrested but an investigation was under way following the alleged incident, which left the teenager visibly distressed and in tears on the Anfield pitch..

The owner of the account sending the offensive tweets went on to delete the various comments, followed by his account. But not before Collymore had taken screen-grabs of the tweets and pictures of the person believed to be sending them, before informing his the Twitter followers that he would be passing them onto the police.

Collymore later said: “Not having it anymore, it's virtually every day now.”
