MURDERED: Jordan Davis

THE FATHER of Jordan Davis, the Florida teen who was fatally shot by a white man over loud music, is urging Black Lives Matter supporters to boycott Black Friday once again.

Jordan was fatally shot by 47-year-old Michael Dunn on Black Friday - the day after Thanks Giving in the US.

This year, to commemorate the death of his son, Davis is asking shoppers to refrain from spending any money on Black Friday - one of the world's biggest shopping events with most stores and online retailers offering mega discounts.

In an interview with the BBC, he said: "I don’t want anyone to spend a dime on Black Friday."

The campaign kicked off last year with the mission, which is identified and spread online through #BlackoutBlackFriday and #NotOneDime, aimed to boycott large retailers on one of the country's biggest shopping days of the year.

In doing so, protesters aimed to take a stand in the fight for economic freedom and equal human rights.

The group was created last October by Ryan Coogler, the director of the 2013 award-winning film Fruitvale Station.

The film told the story of Oscar Grant, an black Californian teenager who was shot on New Year's Day 2009 by a transit officer at a Bay Area train station and whose death sparked immediate outrage from the community.

On November 23, 2012, Dunn, 47, shot and killed 17-year-old Jordan, claiming he feared for his life after an argument over loud music outside a Jacksonville, Florida. convenience store.

In February 2014, a jury deadlocked on the first-degree murder charge relating to the teen’s death, but a second trial in October 2014 produced a conviction.

Dunn was sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole.

On his son's killer, Davis said: "I don’t have peace. How can I forgive you? I think it’s up to God to forgive you."

He continued: "The gun violence in America is outstanding now.

"It seems like every time within 28 days, an African American or person of colour is killed in America."
