DIGNIFIED: Neville and Doreen Lawrence arrive at court earlier today (Nov 14) for the start of the trial into their son Stephen's murder.

THE PARENTS of Stephen Lawrence arrived at the Old Bailey this morning (Nov 14) as a trial into their son's murder is due to begin.

Neville and Doreen Lawrence maintained a dignified silence as they arrived at the court where defendants David Norris and Gary Dobson are being tried.

Prosecutor, Mark Ellison QC, is expected to set out the evidence against the two men tomorrow.

Dobson, 36, and Norris, 35, are accused of stabbing the teenager to death at a bus stop in Eltham, south-east London, at around 10.35pm on April 22, 1993.

The trial is expected to last until mid-January.

Dobson, wearing a charcoal suit, white shirt and dark tie, and Norris, wearing a grey suit, pale blue shirt and dark tie, sat next to each other in the docks.

The pair spoke only to confirm their names before the press were asked to leave while a jury is selected.

A panel of 12 jurors is expected to be sworn in tomorrow (Nov 15).

They will be given strict instructions by the judge with regard to their duty and conduct throughout the trial.
