NOMINATION: Idris Elba

IDRIS ELBA says he feels ‘honoured’ to have been nominated for two Emmy awards.

The south London actor, who was recognised in the category of 'Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie' for his performance in popular BBC show, Luther and for his guest appearance on American TV series The Big C earlier today (July 14), said he felt “extremely honoured to be nominated in two categories”

"This has been such an amazing morning for me!" he said.

"Luther has been such a passion project for me and working on The Big C was a great time."

The 38-year-old also gave a mention to his recent achievement on Twitter, writing: "2 Emmy nods ..age 38... Perseverance... (sic)."

The Emmys will take place on September 18
