Expo will be even bigger and better!

TASTY TREAT: Last year’s event proved extremely popular, but the addition of The Great Bristol Jerk Fest for 2019 is expected to attract even more visitors

THE BRISTOL African Caribbean Expo (BACE) returns this year with the event now being held at the beginning of the summer, on June 1.

While the organisers have maintained their original features, a new parallel event will also be added on the day.

The Expo will host The Great Bristol Jerk Fest. This will be a showcase of local and national chefs who specialise in jerk cuisine to promote their food and participate in a competition. The winner will receive a variety of prizes and media promotion.

EXPOSURE: The event is a great opportunity for underrepresented businesses

The flavoursome festival will target young people in the catering trade, or interested in joining the industry, in an aim to engage a demographic that the Expo isn’t attracting in numbers.

The Expo itself maintains its identity in what it was set up to do – an event aimed at small to medium, predominantly African-Caribbean enterprises and those that provide support services to them.

It offers exposure and networking to businesses that are underrepresented and underexposed, both in the city and nationally.

And the Expo continues to be affordable to all, with cost-effective stalls to traders and free entry to visitors making it accessible to many who would not normally have had the chance to experience an exposition.

The Expo also boasts a Young Entrepreneurs space to encourage our youth to explore business options available to them.

With a range of practical and enjoyable seminars and workshops including cooking and entrepreneurship plus a range of entertainment and shopping possibilities, the Expo aims to attract even more visitors and stall-holders this year.

New sponsors have been attracted this year and organisers continue the great relationships built with the Legacy Sponsoring Partners and returning sponsors. So the event promises to be bigger, better and even more enjoyable.

Come join the community on June 1 at Trinity Centre, Trinity Road, Bristol, BS2 0NW.
