Fifa president set to meet Boateng

MEETING: Blatter, left, and Boaeng are scheduled to talk this month

AC MILAN MIDFIELDER Kevin-Prince Boateng will meet with Fifa president Sepp Blatter later this month to look at ways to tackle racism.

Fifa have announced that the player is scheduled to see Blatter on March 22 in Zurich.

Boateng became the focus of anti-racism in the world of football when he led his team mates off the pitch in January after suffering racial abuse in a friendly from fans of fourth-tier Italian side Pro Patria.

The Ghana international was also invited to attend the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination in March after his recent stand.

Blatter used his speech at the World Player of the Year gala, held four days after the incident, to make known that unilaterally leaving the pitch "cannot be the solution."

“That is praiseworthy,” Blatter said in January of the former Tottenham and Portsmouth midfielder’s actions during the first half of the friendly. “But it cannot be the solution in the long term.

“We have to find other sustainable solutions to tackle the problem of racism and discrimination at its roots. Otherwise, such stands will be made in isolation and lost in the heat of general polemic.”
