DOUBLE TROUBLE: Mo Farah does his trademark Mo-Bot after winning the 5,000m

IT WAS like déjà vu in the Olympic stadium as Mo Farah took gold for the second consecutive Saturday; although this time it was in the 5,000m.

The double-Olympic medallist was amongst a tough field including; Ethiopian Dejen Gebremeskel and Thoma Pkemei Losngosiwa of Kenya, who took silver and bronze respectively.

Farah started the race a little tentatively but took the lead three laps from the end and from that point he never looked like losing his lead.

He crossed the line in 13:41.66 to become on the fourth man in history to win the 5,000 and 10,000m at the Games.

He said: "It's just unbelievable! In the heat I didn’t feel so good but it worked out so it’s pretty good.

"The American tried to get past me but I just had to get through it."

It had been a week since his first medal and as he arrived in the stadium to a cheer from the sell-out crowd, he looked relaxed and eager to start. He walked to his lane, with a clear bouncy spring in his step.

Half way through the crowd became a little apprehensive, but after he took the lead and ran the last mile in four minutes; there were no doubt as to who they were cheering for.
