Football fans arrested for ‘racist offences’

CLASH: Chelsea versus West Ham United

TWO MEN have been arrested for alleged racially aggravated public order offences that occurred during the Premier League fixture between Chelsea and West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on March 17.

The Metropolitan Police Service have confirmed that two suspects, who are West Ham fans that were in attendance at the west London venue where Chelsea won 2-0, have been released until the end of March.

Police are also studying CCTV footage after coins were thrown in the direction of Chelsea and England player Frank Lampard after he celebrated scoring his 200th goal for the club with John Terry.

The FA have said that they will work with the authorities and both teams to find the perpetrators.
