HIGH RANKING: Frank Ocean

FRANK OCEAN is the most powerful gay man in the music industry, according to a poll.

Compiled by dedicated-gay publication Out magazine, the poll ranks the “gay men and women whose power and prestige is instrumental in influencing the way Americans think about, and engage with, the world."

In the overall list, Ocean was in 10th place, and the only musician to be featured.

Last year, the Novacane singer wrote an open letter explaining that he had been in love with a man.

His admission is to-date the most high profile in the R&B music industry, gaining praise from his peers for his bravery.

Ellen DeGeneres was placed at number two on Out's poll, reporter and television personality Anderson Cooper came in fifth and Glee creator Ryan Murphy came third.
