ALLEGATIONS: Jerome, left, and Bellusci (PA)

SECURITY STAFF had to prevent Norwich striker Cameron Jerome barging into the Leeds dressing room at half-time after he accused a player of racially abusing him during a Championship game.

The match took place on Tuesday night (Oct 21) at Carrow Road where Jerome alleged Italian Giuseppe Bellusci directed racist language at him.

Following the allegations, the FA have launched an investigation into the incident.

Reports suggest Jerome claims Bellusci used the word “negro”.

Bellusci has denied the allegations and has received the backing of Leeds president Massimo Cellino, who defended the player.

Referee Mark Clattenburg was aware of the incident and spoke to both players involved, recording what happened in his match report.

If found to have breached FA rules, Bellusci would face at least a five-game ban.

Speaking about the incident, Jerome said: “On what was actually said would not be fair for me to say at this point but it will be a matter for the governing body to deal with.

“As all will know an allegation has been made by myself to the referee in which he made note of and will write it in his match report.”

Defending the Leeds player, Cellino said: “Bellusci is no racist. He said, 'You must be joking, I said nothing like this to him (Jerome)'. He is surprised. He is shocked.

"I won't allow racists at this club.

"If one of my players is racist I'll kick his arse and kick him out before the FA has a chance.

"Bellusci swears to me he said nothing racist. I believe him and and I'll support him."
