Gang members jailed for Thomas Cudjoe murder

MURDERED: Thomas Cudjoe was sat in a car when he was brutally killed

AN OLD Bailey judge has today sentenced five members of a gang to life terms in prison after they were found guilty of murdering a man in east London.

Thomas Cudjoe, 29, was murdered in Ilford during the early hours of November 2012.

He was attacked as he sat in a car at a forecourt in Ley Street – his killers stabbed him 10 times while kicking and punching him.

Emergency services at the scene attempted to save him but he was pronounced dead.

Cudjoe’s murderers were identified by CCTV and were convicted at the Old Bailey on July 26.

Asher Johnson, 25, of Bellamy Close, east London, will serve a minimum of 16 and a half years in prison.

Courtney Mitchell, 23, of Clandon Road, Ilford, received a sentence of 18 years.

Jerome Green, 23, of Ashgrove Road, Ilford got a 25-year prison term.

Lewis Johnson, 22, of Bellamy Close, east London, was handed a 16-and-a-half-year sentence.

Reece Garwood, 21, Overton Road, Romford, got a minimum of 17 years in jail.
