RAPPER GIGGS has called out The Sun newspaper for their latest front page targeting drill music for the increase in knife and gun crime in the UK.

The Sun's latest cover story - which focuses on "drill rap killings" -comes off the heels of the death of drill rapper Incognito after he was stabbed in Camberwell.

Incognito was a member of drill crew Moscow17. The music genre has been heavily criticised for inciting violence and has seen many videos being removed from YouTube.

Taking to Instagram, Giggs wrote: "Sorry to the mother of this kid that died, prayers to you and you family and sorry to turn this even more negative.

"But I must say, It’s strange how when our music gets popular we make your sh*t newspaper. Black yutes were dying weekly and barely made the south London Press, and what a surprise that it’s not about a kid losing his life, it’s just some bullshit story you made up about profit and Westwood. Look how the story starts “Former Radio 1....” not “Young kid loses his life...”???? Suck your mums Sun newspaper.

Many in the industry have echoed Giggs's sentiments about blame being wrongly placed on drill music for an issue that goes far deeper.

Lethal Bizzle made an appearance on Good Morning Britain earlier this year, where he shutdown claims that there was a connection between the popularity of grime and drill music and a rise in crime, saying: "there's a bigger agenda than just blaming the music because there's nothing that's going to change if we don't find the real solution."

He added: "I think at this moment it's about trying to find a solution and not trying to find the blame because I feel like everyone's trying to blame everything and no one is trying to solve anything.

"I think everyone has to take a bit of responsibility, the government, themselves, the parents."
