OSCAR-WINNING ACTRESS Halle Bery has given birth to a healthy “miracle” baby boy.

The 47-year-old, who tied the knot with husband Oliver Martinez in Burgundy, France last July, delivered her son on Saturday (October 5) at the famed Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles - the preferred hospital for many celebrities.

Martinez first broke the news of the pregnancy in June when he said: “My son will remain an American, but I will remain French”.

This is the couple’s first child. But the Monster’s Ball star, who is the first and only African-American woman to win an Oscar for a leading role, has a daughter with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubrey.

The two settled a custody battle over the child in 2012.

Berry previously said she was thrilled to be pregnant again and referred to her conception as a “miracle” due to her age.

The actor has been married twice before, to baseball player David Justice and then to R&B singer/songwriter Eric Benet.

Berry last month testified with Jennifer Garner in support of a bill to introduce tougher penalties on paparazzi who harass celebrities and their children.

Once Berry returns to work she is set to star in the Steven Spielberg’s new CBS drama Extant.
