The International Women's Day events to attend this year

GIRL POWER: Super Sheroes exhibition

THIS MONTH marks Women's History Month, and March 8 is the 62nd International Women's Day.

The theme for this year is “Time is Now: Rural and urban activists transforming women’s lives.”

This theme is timely, after the past year has seen the #MeToo campaign, the suffragette centenary, Oprah’s unforgettable speech, alongside so much progress for women in business and education across the globe. The plan for 2018 onwards is to leave no one behind.

Each year, many IWD events are held worldwide - global gatherings, conferences, awards, exhibitions, festivals, fun runs, corporate events, concert performances, speaking events, online digital gatherings and more.

Events are held by women's networks, corporations, charities, educational institutions, government bodies, political parties, the media and further communities, making the day as special as possible for women worldwide.

The IWD website shows where events are happening local to you - read our selection of events below and check out more on their site!
