SHAMAR NICHOLSON, who scored twice for Jamaica in the recent CONCACAF Gold Cup, notched his first Europa League goal on Thursday (Jul 25).

The 22-year-old hot-shot broke the deadlock for his Slovenian side NZ Domžale, at home against Malmö FF, in their Europa League 2nd Qualifying Round - Europe's second most prestigious competition behind the Champions League.

Despite the Kingston-born ace slotting home on 37 minutes, Nicholson's side were held 2-2 and next week travel to Sweden for the second leg qualifier.

The former Boys Town FC star striker, who signed for Domžale in 2017, has been banging in the goals recently for Jamaica's Reggae Boyz.

He broke his international duck by notching the winner in the 1-0 friendly against hosts United States in June, then bagged the opener in the 1-1 stalemate against Curaçao in the Gold Cup. And earlier this month he hit the target in the Boyz' semi-final 3-1 reversal at the hands of the US.

Head coach Theodore Whitmore unearthed the 6'4" dangerman back in February 2017, but it has only been this year that Nicholson has proved that he is a shooting star.
