Jamie Foxx marches seeking justice for Trayvon Martin

WANTING ACTION: Jamie Foxx

AN AWARD-WINNING actor was a part of a peace walk in memory of murdered teenager Trayvon Martin that took place in Miami, Florida, on February 9.

Django Unchained star Jamie Foxx participated in a walk of remembrance for Trayvon, who was shot dead after an altercation with George Zimmerman that took place in Sanford, Florida on February 26, 2012.

Acclaimed comedian and singer Foxx also called for the ‘stand your ground law’ – which suggests that a person can use force in self-defence when forcibly threatened – to be revoked.

Foxx told news outlet NBC 6: "The thing is with press, and you know how press goes, it will be a hot story at one point. It will be the thing to go to and, all of a sudden, they try to forget about it.

“And I said I don't want anybody to forget about this, because they can't forget about the fact that they lost their son... The thing is, we're not asking for anything out of the ordinary. We're asking for justice."
