Jerome set for pastures new

LOAN STAR: Cameron Jerome

BLACKBURN ROVERS are set to swoop for out-of-favour Stoke striker Cameron Jerome in a short-term loan deal. Jerome, 26, has found his first-team opportunities at the Britannia stadium limited since arriving in the summer of 2011.

The burly striker netted eight times last campaign and was one of the club’s leading scorers in his maiden term.
Rovers signed Jordan Rhodes for a club record £8 million but want a more proven operated to add some experience to their frontline.

The Lancashire club are still without a manager but their hierarchy are ready to sanction the move.
Rovers splurged on several big-name recruits over the summer and would have little problem covering the former England Under-21 international’s £25,000-a-week wages.
