QUALITY ACT: JLS

BRITISH BOYBAND JLS have been announced as the first act to perform at the brand new £60m Leeds Arena on December 20, 2013.

The four-piece group are booked to perform at the venue, which is situated on Clay Pit Lane.

The X Factor runners-up are the first artists to officially be chosen to appear at the venue but unnamed acts are scheduled to play at the 13,500 capacity venue in September.

“Plans are well under way to put together a packed programme for our opening fortnight in September and it’s marvellous that already we can look forward to performances from quality acts such as JLS in the months after that,” said council leader Keith Wakefield.

Tickets for JLS' show at the Leeds Arena go on sale on November 16.
