JLS named UK's hardest working band

SHOWSTOPPERS: JLS

HAVING PERFORMED at a total of 34 shows across Britain in 2012, boyband JLS have been named as Britain's Hardest Working Band.

In a list that was compiled by PRS for Music, the four-piece group headlined more major concerts than any other band.

JLS finished ahead of runners-up Westlife – who performed at 31 shows – and third place Steps.

JLS, who were X Factor runners-up in 2008, said in a statement: "It means a lot that so many of our fans have had a chance to see us perform live. We look forward to doing more in 2013."

PRS spokesperson Barney Hooper added: "Gigging is as important for the biggest performers as those starting out and it's great to see that it is thriving in the U.K."
