Leona Lewis lands role on US television show

LEONA LEWIS has ditched a pop career for a turn in Hollywood, after it was revealed she will star in a new US television series.

The star will feature in The Oath, a series which explores a world of gangs made up of those sworn to protect and shed light on corrupt and secret societies.

Lewis will join the second season of the show and is taking on the role of Amber Hall, who grew up surrounded by violence as a child. Now working at the local hospital as a doctor, she tries her best to support those in the community who are in need.

The show, which is produced by 50 Cent, also stars Cory Hardrict, the husband of Tia Mowry, and Ryan Kwanten, who's best known for his recurring role on vampire series True Blood.

The second season will see fellow singer Christina Milian joining as a series regular.
