LEONA LEWIS has said she will play a role in a movie for the first time.
The pop singer, who rose to fame in 2008, is to star in British musical Holiday that is to begin shooting on location in Italy and the UK.
The movie is features a collection of pop songs, including Madonna’s Holiday and Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.
The 28-year-old singer, on set in Italy, tweeted: “Just wrapped for the day! So excited for you guys to see this, such great moments being captured.
“Lucky to work with amazingly talented [people]”.
The Bleeding Love singer, who rocketed to the nation’s attention after winning X Factor over five years ago, is reported to be working on a Christmas album set for release later this year.
The Grammy-nominated singer worked as a receptionist before claiming singing fame and fortune.
