SERENE: Lovers Beach offers the perfect landscape for a romantic getaway
THE CARIBBEAN island of Nevis, voted The Most Romantic Island in The Caribbean by the Caribbean Journal last year, is preparing to welcome couples from all over the world this Valentine’s Day to revel and rekindle their romance under the warm sun and palm trees.
The small island, part of the Leeward chain in the West Indies, remains largely unchanged by the growing tourism demands of the Caribbean. The island reflects the way life used to be, with pristine beaches, lush greenery and beautiful surroundings, making it the perfect romantic escape.
The golden beaches have provided many celebrity A-listers – including Beyonce and Jay-Z – with a romantic, and most importantly a private escape. Thanks to the island’s strong royal connection – Prince Harry first visited Nevis with his mother, Diana Princess of Wales and most recently released baby turtles into the sea on Lovers Beach – the idyllic island will be a highly sought out destination.
“We are extremely proud to continue welcoming romance travellers and couples from all over the world,” says Nevis Tourism Authority CEO Greg Phillips. “People planning their vacations are spoilt for choice by the luxury found across our wonderful island.”
With the number of activities on offer, it’s easy to see how couples can maximise the romance while on the island.
