TARGET: Mario Balotelli
AC MILAN forward Mario Balotelli was allegedly subjected to racial abuse in the Milan derby last night at the San Siro.
Inter Milan fans were seen waving inflated bananas and jeering obscenities at the former Manchester City forward during the 1-1 draw at the San Siro.
Notwithstanding the amounts of abuse recived, Balotelli - who played for Inter from 2006- 2010 helping them to a treble - kept composed and responded by putting his finger to his lips during the second half.
Since the 22 year-old’s move from the Etihad, the Italian international has managed to find the net four times for AC Milan but was unable to on Sunday as the game ended in a stalemate. Balotelli’s best chance of the game came via a poqwerful header but his effort was saved by Inter’s keeper Samir Handanovic in the first half.
Last May Balotelli threatened to walk off the pitch if he was racially abused at Euro 2012 and said he would 'kill' anyone who dares to throw a banana at him.
The volatile Italian striker was speaking out amid increasing concerns that black players would be targeted by racists when the tournament kicked off in Poland and Ukraine.
