Michelle Obama: ‘I’m not an angry black woman’

NEW BOOK: Michelle Obama

MICHELLE OBAMA has hit back at reports suggesting she has been involved in constant feuds with her husband’s aides.

America’s First Lady says that allegations made in new book, The Obamas, insisting there had been a war of words between her and President Obama’s staff were false and had added weight to an inaccurate portrayal of her.

“I guess it's just more interesting to imagine this conflicted situation here," she told CBS's Gayle King.

She continued: "That's been an image people have tried to paint of me since the day Barack announced, that I'm some kind of angry black woman."

The Obamas, written by New York Times reporter Jodi Kantor, describes Mrs Obama as someone who struggled to adjust to her new life as the US First Lady following her husband's historic victory in the 2008 Presidential race.

“I never read these books, so I've just gotten in the habit of not reading other people's impressions of people." Mrs Obama said.
