'My sister did not commit suicide!'

TRAGIC: Wendy Maguire fell to her death from a bridge in east London

A WOMAN claiming to be the sister of a 16-year-old girl who fell to her death from a bridge in east London, as hit back at reports claiming the teen committed suicide.

Vivianne Patrick Maguire vented her frustrations via a Facebook tribute group set up for sister Wendy who fell from a footbridge on the A12 in Leytonstone.

Wendy's body was found last Friday (Jan 13) on busy a stretch of road beneath the bridge between Gainsborough Road and Wallwood Road. She was confirmed dead at the scene.

Shortly before her death The Palmer Catholic Academy pupil had reportedly been peer pressured into drinking vodka while at school, and despite falling ill, she was allegedly given permision to go home alone.

Many reports suggested that the teen had committed suicide, but Vivianne maintains that her little sister did not kill herself.

"Wendy did not commit suicide, people need to realise this," Vivianne wrote on the social networking site.

"Ohhh we know who was involved in my sisters death. There just all wanna blame Wendy, cos she can't stick up for herself [sic]," she wrote in a separate post.

The school-girl's family told the Daily Mail that she had been put in 'the sick room' because she collapsed twice in the playground, but was allowed to leave school grounds before they could pick her up.

Speaking on the tragedy Wendy's mother Leila Maguire told the Mail: "We have no idea what happened to her in the time between when she left the school and when she was found."

She added: "But we know she wasn't in control of herself, so she may have leaned over the railings, lost her footing and slipped. We can't believe it's happened."

Police continue to investigate the case.
