Naomi Campbell brings fashion for relief to London

FASHION FOR RELIEF: Naomi Campbell

NAOMI CAMPBELL is bringing her global charity gala Fashion For Relief back home to London on Saturday 14 September to raise vital funds in support of young people from disadvantaged communities.

The South London-born and raised supermodel and philanthropist has chosen the Mayor’s Fund for London as one of this year's charity partners.

The Mayor’s Fund for London is a social mobility charity, supporting young Londoners from low-income backgrounds. Funds raised will go into their employability programs, which offer employability support, training and education to help young people, regardless of their background, gain access to fulfilling careers.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, said: “I’m delighted that Naomi and Fashion For Relief have chosen to support the Mayor’s Fund for London. We share the belief that all young people, regardless of their background, should have the opportunity to fulfil their potential, and this support will make a big difference in the charity’s work to help young Londoners.”

This year’s Fashion For Relief, set in the heart of London Fashion Week, will take place at the British Museum. The evening – sponsored by CHROME HEARTS® and GUCCI – includes a cocktail reception, glamorous fashion show, gala dinner and auction, musical performances, and an exclusive after-party.

Past participants and supporters of Fashion For Relief include: Beyoncé, Leonardo Di Caprio, Donatella Versace, Kate Moss, Idris Elba, Uma Thurman, Jane Fonda, Claudia Schiffer, Iman, Heidi Klum, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Justin Bieber, James Corden, Mary J. Blige, Antonio Banderas, Lewis Hamilton, Erin O’Connor, Adrien Brody, Christian Slater, Rosario Dawson, Agyness Deyn, Jourdan Dunn and Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan.

The British Fashion Council will be honouring Naomi with the Fashion Icon Award at The Fashion Awards 2019, taking place at the Royal Albert Hall, London, on December 2.
