Nicki Minaj: 'Mariah is one of my favourite artists'

KISS AND MAKE UP: Nicki heaps praise on Mariah at recent press conference

RAPPER NICKI Minaj seems ready to let bygones be bygones after complimenting her American Idol nemesis at a recent press conference.

The Roman Reloaded star, who appeared on a panel for the Television Critics Association Winter Tour yesterday (Jan 8) alongside all three judges from the popular US talent show, heaped praise on Mariah.

According to the blog Vulture.com a journalist asked the women, whose volatile argument on the set of American Idol in October was seen by millions, to say something nice about each other.

Nicki, 30, went first and said: "I say nice things about Mariah all the time. She is one of my favourite artists of all time.

"To be on a panel with her, it's kind of crazy. All the singers come in aspiring to be Mariah, in terms of talent and in terms of career length."

Mariah apparently 'flinched' before replying: "That was a very sweet thing to say.
'We did a song that was from my album and it was called, ironically, Up Out My Face. It was one of my favorite songs."

Mariah added: "And I did feel like she was going to go very far and still have that feeling. I am grateful for anything nice that she or anyone has to say."

In the damning footage, which shows rapper Nicki launch a foul-mouthed tirade against Mariah, she can be heard telling the Like That hit-maker to ‘get in control’ of herself, before shouting that would not ‘put up’ with anymore of Mariah’s behaviour.

According to TMZ the hip-hop star also threatened to ‘knock out’ the mother-of-two before the cameras started rolling.
