Nile Rodgers to replace Robbie Williams on X Factor

REPLACEMENT: Nile Rodgers

CHIC SINGER Nile Rodgers will replace Robbie Williams on X-Factor - but only temporarily.

As Williams heads overseas for a string of performances, the Chic guitarist will appear on the show on Saturday, helping Williams with his groups category. Rodgers will then take his chair on Sunday where he'll be casting a vote.

A TV source said to The Sun: “Robbie was originally due to be off this Saturday as well but ITV have agreed a pre-record X Factor earlier in the evening so it means Robbie can do the show then get a late flight to Chile.

"Nile is a music legend so viewers will be in for a treat."

To account for Williams's tour, The X Factor will pre-record this Saturday's live show for the first time in its history.

66-year-old Rodgers has already appeared as a guest judge on the show during Judges’ Houses where he joined Louis Tomlinson, alongside Liam Payne, to help pick the final four boys.

Users on social media seem to be happy with Rodgers as a replacement. On Twitter, one person wrote: "Can Nile Rodgers be a permanent replacement?!?
Asking for myself & everyone!!!" while another said: "nile rodgers replacing robbie for the time being might be the best thing that could’ve happened to louis and his boys and the whole competition tbh sorrynotsorry"

The X Factor airs on ITV this Saturday at 8.35pm.
