CARNIVAL: This year's event was one of the hottest ever
IT’S EUROPE’S biggest event of it’s kind and the 2019 Notting Hill Carnival will also go down as one of the hottest of all time.
With the mercury hitting record levels it was no surprise to see revellers take advantage of the country’s biggest celebration of culture, diversity and inclusivity.
It’s 35 years since Arrow released the all time classic soca/calypso song Hot, Hot, Hot but what an apt song it was for last weekends festivities.
A wonderful occasion it was a chance for everyone to come out and enjoy themselves and the vast majority did just that.
Executive director of Notting Hill Carnival Ltd Matthew Phillip said: “Once again Carnival was incredible. From Panorama on Saturday evening through to the final parade trucks on Monday and everything in between. Notting Hill Carnival 2019 was a perfect demonstration of why it is one of the most unique and important events in the UK, and why people from all over the globe come to take part.
“The weather has been remarkable and the perfect back drop to another spectacular August Bank holiday. The tireless energy from the small community who create the largest community-led Carnival in the world can't be understated, every year they drive Carnival forward and makes it so special. Their dedication all year around results in a weekend filled with joy and unity that represents so much and is something I know this community is very proud of. I am honoured to be a part of it.”
