Pastor aims to help murdered man's family

PLEA: Creflo Dolllar

CREFLO DOLLAR, leader of internationally renowned mega church World Changers has appealed to his members to raise $234,000 for the family of a man who was shot dead at their church recently.

He said the money will be used to help the man’s wife and two sons clear their debts, so that they don’t have financial burdens hanging over them following their loss.

Dollar told the church, in the Sunday service following the shooting: “In my book, he’s a hero. If those bullets hadn’t been trained on him, there would’ve been more people that would’ve died.”
Greg McDowell, 39, was gunned down as he led a weekday morning prayer service at the church.

Witnesses stated that Floyd Palmer, a former employee at World Changers walked calmly into the church chapel and fired multiple shots. Palmer was subsequently arrested and charged with murder.

Palmer was charged with attempted murder, assault and handgun charges in 2001 and committed to a psychiatric hospital in 2004 after pleading not criminally responsible to lesser charges. He was released the following year.
