CHARGED: R. Kelly

R KELLY was arrested by New York Police detectives and investigators from the Department of Homeland Security on Thursday night and is now facing13 federal sex crime charges.

US attorney spokesman Joseph Fitzpatrick said the counts include “child porn, enticement of a minor and obstruction of justice,” adding that further details would be released later Friday.

R Kelly, born Robert Kelly, was arrested in Illinois earlier this year on 10 different sex charges involving four women - three of whom were minors at the time of abuse.

Kelly pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released on bail.

A few months later, Cook County prosecutors added 11 more sex-related counts to the charges as more victims came forward. Another minor was involved.

Following the release of Lifetime documentary, “Surviving R. Kelly” earlier this year, and Kelly’s series of arrests throughout the year, there has been a nationwide boycott of his music, with people declaring to #MuteRKelly.

The 52-year-old Grammy winner is currently in federal custody in Chicago and continues to deny all allegations of sexual abuse.
