Radio station listeners donate to children's charity in JA

CHARITY: Radio host Valentine presents Sharon Foster with a cheque

The CHILDREN'S Toolkit, a south London based non-profit organisation set up in 2015 by Christian teachers to provide free educational resources to nursery schools in Jamaica, recently received a generous donation of £437 from listeners of the SLR radio station after a live broadcast which featured the charity.

Sharon Foster, the founder of Children’s Tookit, was being interviewed on the radio about the work of the organisation and listeners were so moved by the efforts the teachers were doing to assist nursery schools in Jamaica that they started to pledge cash donations to assist the organisation.

Foster, herself a school teacher, explained that the aim of Children’s Toolkit is to provide free educational resources to underprivileged schools in Jamaica to enhance the children's learning so that they can enjoy their early childhood years.

The Children’s Toolkit will be hosting a fundraising event in aid of educational resources for schools in Jamaica on Saturday, September 10th at Clapham Park Centre, Kingswood Road (Rear of Richard Atkins School) London SW2 starting at 6.30 pm.
