TELEVISION CONTRACT: Fearon

BOXING PROMOTER of five years, Spencer Fearon, has successfully secured a six-show deal with sky channel Premier Sports with the first show taking place on October 7 at the York Hall in Bethnal Green, east London.

THE 37-year-old former boxer only formed his Hard Knocks Boxing Promotions two years ago with business partner Ciaran Baynes, but the increased popularity of their shows has led to television exposure with the pay-per-view channel.

Excited at the prospect of showcasing his fighters to a national audience, Fearon told the Voice of Sport:

“I’m bringing something different, it’s about product and I’ve got the best product out there but I’m not going to get above myself because there’s still a lot to do.

“It’s a movement that’s been in my mindset from a young age and now that I’ve done that it’s growing bigger and better. I’m showing people the way forward is to never ever give up on your dreams an aspirations.”

Entitled This is Hard Knocks, the October 7 show will feature the likes of Southern Area light-welterweight champion Darren Hamilton, featherweight Choi Tseveenpurev and Kreshnik ‘The Albanian Eagle’ Qato.

PROUD PROMOTER: Fearon

A boxing fanatic, Fearon identified that punters want to see unpredictable fights and he guarantees that ticket purchasers would see exactly that at a Hard Knocks event.

“This sport is meant to be a contest and I know that when I turn up to a show that the house fighter’s going to win because he’s fighting someone who has had 200 fights and won four,” explained Fearon.

“That is not a contest. That is a mismatch, not matchmaking so I’m trying to give people proper matchmaking and the reason why is because I’m a boxing lover.”
