THE VERY BEST: Simone Biles won four gold medals for the United States in gymnastic events at the 2016 Olympic Games

GYMNASTICS SUPERSTAR Simone Biles is heading to London.

The American, who won four gold medals at the Rio Olympics three years ago, will participate in Matchroom Multi Sport’s The Superstars Of Gymnastics, a major new event featuring global star Biles and British athlete Max Whitlock, which will take place at The O2 in London on Saturday, March 23.

Columbus-born Biles, who stands at just 4´8˝, was the Rio 2016 Olympic gold medallist in vault, floor, individual and team all-round, and took the bronze for the balance beam.

Since she announced herself to the world, 21-year-old Biles has rewritten the history books by becoming the first female African American all-round champion.

She has also accumulated the most World Championship golds medals won by a female gymnast in history, with 10.

The Superstars of Gymnastics will showcase an exhibition of the very best talent in gymnastics over two sessions at The O2.

Two-time Olympic gold medallist Aliya Mustafina of Russia and Germany’s Fabian Hambüchen, a gold medallist on horizontal bars at Rio 2016, have also been confirmed alongside Englishmen Courtney Tulloch and Sam Oldham, with many more still to be announced.

Matchroom Sport chairman Barry Hearn said: “We’re very excited to be announcing this brand new event to take place at The O2 in March. The Superstars of Gymnastics is going to be something very special and something very big for the sport of gymnastics.

“We will be bringing superstars from around the world to London for a world-class showcase of this brilliant sport.

“With Simone and Max already on board and more big names to come, it is going to be something you simply won’t want to miss.”
