HITTING BACK: snoop Lion has slammed Bunny Wailer for accusing him of exploiting Rastafari culture

US RAPPER Snoop Lion has hit out at Bunny Wailer, saying the Jamaican musician “wasn’t the s*** in The Wailers.”

Following his conversion to Rastafari last year, the Gin And Juice hitmaker changed his name from Snoop Dogg to Snoop Lion, and headed to Jamaica, where he met with Wailer and featured him in his documentary Reincarnated.

However, Bob Marley’s former bandmate went on to reportedly slam the Snoop for his "outright fraudulent use of the Rastafari community's personalities and symbolism.”

Snoop has now hit back, expressing his fury at Wailer for insulting him, after he featured the Wailers singer and guitarist in his documentary – and insisting that the 66-year-old was the least significant member of the reggae band that earned him fame.

“In the Nineties, he [Wailer] could have never tried that because I'd have slapped the dog s*** out of his old ass,” Snoop told US magazine Rolling Stone. “How dare you? After all I've done for you?”

Snoop added: “You wasn't the s*** in the Wailers. You was just one of them: Bob [Marley], Peter Tosh, then you. Them dead mean more than you do alive.”

Angered by Wailer’s suggestion that he exploited Rasta culture, Snoop added:

“The people I visited at the Nyabinghi Temple [in Jamaica] aren't speaking negative on me. They're real Rastas. I went in there and filmed them, showed their whole get-down. Nobody did that before. If anyone, they should have complained – ‘He exploited us!’ Why aren't they saying that?

“To me, they have the most gripe to make. How did I exploit Bunny? I gave you a chance to be in my movie. My movie gonna be the s*** with or without you. I'm gonna be the s*** with or without you. I'm Snoop Dogg. Relevant right now.”
