ARRESTED: Snoop Dogg arrested for possesion of cannabis

SNOOP DOGG has been arrested for possesion of cannabis, after US border control agents found the drug on his tour bus.

The 40-year-old rapper was pulled over by officers at the Sierra Blanca, Texas, checkpoint on Saturday (Jan 7), claiming they 'smelled marijuana' coming from his vehicle.

Bill Brooks, a spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, said: "Upon entering the bus the canine alerted to a trashcan located at the rear of the vehicle where a red prescription bottle containing rolled marijuana cigarettes were located."

He added: "A further search produced two other containers containing marijuana weighing in all total of 0.130 lbs."

The Drop it like it's hot hit-maker, who is famed for his love of the drug, alledgedly claimed the cannabis found belonged to him before handing himself over to police.

He was later charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and is expected to return to court on Jan 20.
