Stormzy joins Apple's Beats 1 radio with weekly Merky Show

NEW SHOW: Stormzy

FRESH FROM his double win at the recent MOBO Awards, south London rapper Stormzy has been revealed as the latest name to join Apple’s Beats 1 radio station.

The star, who made history in September when his Wicked Skengman 4 freestyle made it to No.18 in the official chart – the highest charting freestyle - will present the Merky Show with his official DJ, DJ Tiiny, every Friday at 8pm.

“GASSED to announce that me & @DJTiiNY we’ll be joining the @Beats1 team with our brand new #MERKY radio show,” the 22-year-old star wrote on Twitter confirming the news.

On his music policy, the rapper, who has encouraged musicians to send him their tracks, he said: “loadsssss of riddims coming through keep em coming!! I promise to go through ALL of them, and will let everyone know if imma use them!”

Fellow UK stars rushed to congratulate Stormzy, who walked away from the MOBOs with Best Male and Best Grime Act.

Retweeting Stormzy’s announcement, Lethal Bizzle wrote: “My brudda.”

“@Stormzy1 Always making Big moves making London proud,” Twitter user @AriaToupchiani wrote.
@_joebroomhead added: “Mad that @Stormzy1 has a new show on Beats 1 every week #MERKY.”
