MESSAGE: Pastor Mike Scruggs

A PASTOR has installed a stripper’s pole on one side of his pulpit, along with a double bed strewn with dollar bills and sports equipment to depict men’s sexual desires.

On the other side of the pulpit at Pastor Mike Scruggs’ Light of the Word Ministries in Ohio, is a double bed scattered with roses, sweets, teddy bears and a bottle of wine to highlight the desires of women.

With his sermon series entitled The Battle of the Sexes, Pastor Scruggs wants to encourage married couples to have more sex, share bedroom techniques and tell couples how to build intimacy and trust.

Pastor Scruggs said: “Right now, we’re having single people having too much sex and married people not having enough sex.” He is encouraging married couples to have sex seven days straight.

Speaking about his unorthodox method of conveying a gospel message he said: “We push the envelope, that’s true. Don’t take it out of context. Some people say, ‘He’s going to hell. He’s wrong.’ We want to talk about it. We don’t want them to guess at it, assume it’s wrong. It’s right. We want to talk about it.”

He added: “We talk about sex. We talk about drugs. We talk about faith. We talk about relationships… things that people are dealing with on a day-to-day basis.”
