Trevor Noah will host The Daily Show until 2022

BLACK EXCELLENCE: The 33 year-old is taking the world by storm

TREVOR NOAH's contract as host of The Daily Show has been extended by five years.

The agreement stipulates that Noah will stay on as host, writer and executive producer of show. He will also produce and host annual year-end specials, starting this year.

The South African comedian is over the moon with this development and said:

"I'm thrilled to be continuing this amazing journey with both fans of The Daily Show and Comedy Central. It's really exciting to renew this contract for either five more years or until Kim Jong Un annihilates us all — whichever one comes first."

Comedy Central president Kent Alterman released a statement last Thursday, in which he gave special props to the hilarious host: "Trevor makes us look smart on a daily basis, and for that we're grateful"

He also stated that Noah's ratings are up 28%, to 1.6 million viewers, as the only late-night show to grow over last year. August became the most watched month ever among The Daily Show viewers, surpassing NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon among millennials.
