Tutu inspiring

LONDON-BASED artist Kwabena Gyedu (pictured above) stands beside the 80th birthday gift he helped create for anti-racism hero Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu. The gift, commissioned by the UK based Tutu Foundation, has now been sent to Tutu packed with messages of support.

The world congratulated the Nobel Peace Prize laureate on October 7. The Tutu Foundation UK, led by new chief executive Alexandra Ankrah, builds peace in fractured communities across England using Ubuntu (interdependence), a model inspired by Tutu’s peace and reconciliation work all over the world.  It does this by helping conflicting people come together to develop a common point of view of what is wrong and how to make it better.

The Foundation is hosting a series of workshops, called Conversations for Change Programme. The series will next be held in Croydon, south London, from October 27 to 29.
