TV actress Dona promotes adoption

SUPPORT: Jan Fishwick, left, and Dona Croll at PACT balloon race

ACTRESS AND adoptive mum, Dona Croll (right), who is known for roles in BBC’s Doctors and Channel 5’s Family Affairs stands with Jan Fishwick, chief executive of charity Parents and Children Together (PACT), which has offices in London and Reading.

Both women recently joined scores of people at Myatt’s Field Park in Lambeth, south London who released 100 balloons in a balloon race to celebrate the first year of PACT’s London based adoption and fostering services.

The balloon race raised £400 for PACT’s centenary fund that aims to offer therapeutic support to adopted or fostered children. This Saturday (October 1) PACT is hosting an adoption and fostering information afternoon at Heathbrook Community Hall in South Lambeth, starting at 3.00 pm.

Fishwick, whose charity helps 4000 children find homes each year, said: “I’m keen to encourage anyone thinking about helping a child through adoption and long term fostering to get in touch.”

Croll, who has adopted a daughter, added: “I’m a great supporter of adoption as it gives children a secure and loving future in a permanent family.  It has been extremely rewarding for me to adopt my daughter.”
