Two teenagers shot in north and east London

SHOOTINGS: Police activity at Chalgrove Road, Tottenham

A 17-YEAR-OLD girl has died and a 16-year-old boy is in a critical condition after two separate shooting incidents in London yesterday.

Police were called to Chalgrove Road in Tottenham, north London at around 9.35pm on Monday following reports of a shooting.

The London Ambulance Service and Metropolitan police officers arrived to find a teenage girl suffering from a gunshot wound.

They were unable to save her and she died at the scene.

A 21-year-old woman who said she knew the victim told the Press Association: “The car just pulled up and just started shooting.”

The woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, said that she had tried to save the girl.

She said: “I put her on her side and I was just rubbing her back, saying ‘everything’s going to be OK’. I just can’t believe it - so young. It’s ridiculous now.”

In a separate shooting in east London, a teenage boy was discovered by with gunshot injuries.

The 16-year-old is currently in a critical condition in hospital.

Another boy aged 15 was also found injured at the scene in Walthamstow. He was suffering from stab wounds and was also taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigations are ongoing. No arrests have been made.
