REAL OR NOT: Tyler Perry to buy an airline company?

TYLER PERRY is rumoured to have made an offer to buy American Airlines for a reported $5 billion.

The Madea star’s alleged purchase was first reported by Weekly World News, an African American satire blog, which claimed he planed on renaming the airline "African American Airlines.”

Various other outlets have since reported that the struggling airline, which filed a bankruptcy petition last month, has accepted the movie producer’s offer.

Neither Perry nor American Airlines have confirmed or denied the story.
