Tyler Perry: 'Kim Kardashian is a role model!'

FILM: Tyler Perry defends Kim Kardashian

TYLER PERRY has defended his desicion to cast reality TV star Kim Kardashian in his latest movie despite facing an angry backlash from his loyal fans.

Perry, the man behind the Madeafilm franchise, posted an open letter to his critics on his website last week (Nov 11), claiming he chose to have Kim feature in his latest film The Marriage Counsellor because he believes young people 'look up' to the the 31-year-old.

"She [Kim] literally has millions of young people following her. I thought and still do think, that it would be very responsible of her to be a part of this film," he wrote.

He continued: "To have the young people that look up to her, see her in a film that is about, what happens in life when you make the wrong choice Whether you’re aware of it or not, to be honest with you I wasn’t, millions of young people adore her and are following her every move."

His comments come after fans threatened to boycott his latest offering, following claims that Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, staged a 'fake marriage' to basketball player Kris Humprhies on her reality show to make money.

"Regardless of your reasons to cast KK (Kim Kardashian)..I WILL NOT BE LOOKING FORWARD to watching this movie! Sure she has alot of followers, but if you want to jump on her bandwagon then just make a movie for her and her fans then, because thats what this movie just might turn out to be!! [sic]," an angry Perry fan wrote in response to his post, that has already attracted over 200 comments online.

"With all do respect Mr. Perry... if you cast KK in your movie, this will be the first movie I REFUSE to spend my hard earned money on... I don't do bootlegs, but I WOULDN'T even see it if a friend had it for free... I'm just saying...[sic]," added another fan.

The Marriage Counsellor is set for release in 2012.
