TOP EARNER: Tyler Perry

TYLER PERRY has been named as the highest-paid man in entertainment, beating the likes of Simon Cowell and Steven Spielberg to the coveted title, it has been revealed.

The Why Did I Get Married director and star earned an estimated $130m in the last 12 months according to Forbes magazine’s annual list - $20m more than his nearest competitor, Pirates of the Caribbean producer, Jerry Bruckheimer.

Steven Spielberg came in third while Simon Cowell made sixth position. Leonardo DiCaprio, the world’s most-lucrative actor, came in at eighth.

Shamed golfer, and most bankable sportsman, Tiger Woods, came it at number 10 with an estimated annual income of $75m.

Perry’s portfolio of movies, which includes For Colored Girls , have grossed $480m since 2005 when he played Madea Simmons in his debut film, Diary of a Mad Black Woman
