University launches scholarship for women in business

MANCHESTER METROPOLITAN University is launching three new scholarships for the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) programme.

The UKFast MBA Scholarship, Northern Powerhouse Innovator Scholarship and the Women in Business Scholarship are offering the chance for winners to sharpen their business acumen, develop expert commercial knowledge and build leadership skills for a reduced rate.

Three lucky winners will each receive a £6,000 discount on their course fees and two runners-up will receive a reduction of £3,000.

Dr Sara Ward, MBA and Executive Programmes Director, said: “Our scholarships provide wonderful support for successful applicants, all of whom must demonstrate their commitment to taking their business careers to the next level in an ever-changing commercial world.

“Our MBA scholars benefit from the University’s strong connections with regional industry, excellent academic staff and the flexibility offered by our courses as well as the discounted entry.

“The newly launched scholarships are perfect for talented professionals who are keen to develop their skill set by taking part in the most highly-valued and globally recognised qualifications in the business world.”

Each scholarship is suited to different candidates with tailored content. •The UKFast MBA Scholarship reflects the ideals of founder and CEO of UKFast, Lawrence Jones MBE. Applicants for the scholarship must demonstrate passion, innovation and dynamism required to turn a great idea into a great business success.

Manchester Met’s Northern Powerhouse Innovator MBA Scholarship aims to help individuals reflect the region’s growth and rise to prominence in the business arena, while the Women in Business Scholarship aims to give ambitious women the chance to achieve their business goals.

Business experts will make up the judging panel to select winners from the shortlists. All shortlisted entrants will be invited to a special presentation evening at the Business School on July 27, 2016, where the winners and runners-up will be announced.

MBAs at Manchester Met are accredited by the Association of MBAs, ensuring that students gain an internationally recognised qualification.
